Perkumpulan SUAKA untuk perlindungan hak pengungsi adalah jaringan masyarakat sipil sukarela, yang beranggotakan individu maupun organisasi yang bertujuan untuk bekerja bagi perlindungan dan kemajuan hak asasi manusia para pengungsi dan pencari suaka di Indonesia

Bertumbuh dari kesadaran terhadap situasi rentan pencari suaka dan pengungsi di Indonesia, beberapa organisasi masyarakat sipil dan individu yang peduli berkumpul pada bulan Oktober 2012 dan berkomitmen untuk membantu pengungsi dan pencari suaka.

SUAKA sejak Mei 2018 telah menjadi badan hukum berbentuk Perkumpulan berdasarkan SK Kemenhukham.

Saat ini, anggota organisasi yang tergabung di SUAKA adalah:

  • Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Jakarta (LBH Jakarta);
  • Human Rights Working Group (HRWG).

Misi Suaka

  1. Memberikan bantuan hukum, saran dan informasi kepada pencari suaka dan pengungsi;
  2. Memberdayakan pencari suaka dan pengungsi untuk menegakkan hak-hak mereka;
  3. Meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang isu-isu pencari suaka dan pengungsi di Indonesia; dan
  4. Melakukan advokasi untuk pelaksanaan kebijakan yang melindungi hak-hak pengungsi dan pencari suaka.

 

“SUAKA” is the Bahasa Indonesia word for asylum.

SUAKA is an association for the protection of refugee rights. We are a network of voluntary civil society, consisting of individuals and organizations that aim to work for the protection and advancement of the human rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia.

Growing from awareness of the situation of vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees in Indonesia, several civil society organizations and caring individuals gathered in October 2012 and committed to assisting refugees and asylum seekers.

SUAKA, since May 2018 has become a legal entity in the form of an Association based on the Decree of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Mission

Suaka works to protect and promote the human rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia by:

  1. Providing legal aid, advice, and information to asylum seekers and refugees;
  2. Empowering asylum seekers and refugees to understand and advocate for their human rights;
  3. Raising public awareness on asylum and refugee issues; and
  4. Advocating for policies that protect the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
